Mindful Mondays is now in full swing at 15 area restaurants.  Thanks for your participation in this wonderful program to raise money and awareness for the needs of our brothers and sisters in Greater Cleveland.  Just take a coupon (available on our website or in the Gathering Area) to a participating restaurant on Mondays and the restaurant will donate 10% of your bill (excluding tax and alcohol) to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and the Geauga County Hunger Task Force.  Special thanks to our 8 sponsors who made the printing and advertisement possible for this program.  They include Breezewood Gardens, Fifth Third Bank, J & B Construction, Banshee Computer Consulting, Highway Garage, Moosehead Hoof & Ladder, Mr. Excavator and an anonymous donor.  Please patronize these businesses as a way of expressing our thanks for their participation in Mindful Mondays.  For more information on our sponsors, the participating restaurants, or the program, please go to our website at www.mindfulmondays.org.

Lately, we've noticed many children wandering the Gathering Area during Masses.  Please remember never to leave your children unattended.  If they must use the restroom facilities during Mass, please accompany them.  Our children are our most precious and valuable gifts and we want to be sure they are safe and always supervised while in the building.

Last Friday, February 26, we had to cancel our Parish Fish Fry for the first time ever.   A winter weather warning was issued until 10:00 p.m. that night and we decided around Noon to cancel the event.  The cancellation was made not just for the event itself, but as a precaution for the many volunteers who arrive at Noon to begin preparations for the Fish Fry and for our maintenance staff who have to keep up with plowing and shoveling.  You can always find out if an event is cancelled at Holy Angels through our parish website, by telephone, or by signing up for the parish e-news.  We also try to use the media, when possible, to communicate with our parishioners (as we did for the Fish Fry).  Thanks for your understanding.

We congratulate the 115 candidates for Confirmation who will be confirmed by Bishop Roger Gries today at 4:00 p.m.  This is a very special day for our parish family as we call upon the Holy Spirit to enter into our young people through this sacrament and to empower them to do good in our world.  Thanks to all those who had a special role in making this day possible, including our Youth Minister, Libby Peterson, Adult Confirmation leader, Cyndy Vogley, director of Music Ministry, Christie Dilisio and all the catechists and sponsors who have supported, encouraged and guided our young people on the path of faith.  We are so proud of these members of our parish community and will continue to hold them in our prayers and thoughts in days and months ahead.

Join us for our Lenten Series, "Feast of Faith" this Thursday, March 11, at 7:15 p.m. in the Worship Space as Deacon Steve presents the topic of "The Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist."  All are encouraged and invited to attend.

Have a blessed Lenten week!

Fr. Dan

  • Need a theme? How about a Sunday Brunch, Four Course Gourmet Meal, Pasta Night, Candlelight Valentine’s Dinner…whatever suits your budget.
    school fundraisers
  • Set a “ticket” price for your guests. They make their checks payable to Holy Angels. Your contribution as host is the food and drink. That means that ALL proceeds benefit our parish and help to support much-needed scholarship funds for inner-city parochial students as well as continued support of our outreach programs.    Would you like a flyer to help promote the fundraiser?  CLICK HERE.
  •
  • AT THE COMPLETION OF YOUR EVENT, PLEASE PLACE YOUR GUEST'S DONATION CHECKS/CASH IN A SEALED ENVELOPE.  PRINT YOUR NAME (HOST/HOSTESS)  ON THE FRONT ALONG WITH YOUR ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER.  RETURN TO PARISH OFFICES (MON.-FRI. 8:30a.m.-4:30p.m.).  **OR PLACE IN OFFERTORY COLLECTION BASKET AT ANY WEEKEND MASS.**
When you have completed your party plan (number of guests, ticket price) or if you need additional information, please e-mail Chris Treu at Chris.Treu@gmail.com.   Our goal is $30,000 and we're well on our way as you can see from the chart above.  Thanks for your help in making this a great success!

As a special thank you to each parishioner who hosts an event, your name will be entered in a drawing for a 1 week stay in a condominium in Copper Mountain Colorado. In addition, a “thank you” gift for each of your guests will be available. Just let us know how many guests will attend!
